FedEx Shipping Label Printer

 

Requirements

Compatibility: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32 bit), Windows 7 (32 bit), Windows 7 (64 bit)

Browser Plugin Compatibility: Internet Explorer

Printer Compatibility: Eltron 2442, Eltron 2543, Eltron 2844, Samsung SRP-770 II, Zebra S4M, Zebra ZP 450 (other EPL printers may work but are not officially supported by UPS)

 

NOTE: We are not using the FedEx or the printer's driver, the UPS driver works best (See:http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/create/labels/technical.html) for more information.

Action

Download and install UPS driver plug-in:

  1. Windows 7 (64 bit)Choose printer and run from this plugin:  https://filexfer.ups.com/pub/drivers/UPSDrivers_20130125.exe

During installation, if you are using a USB printer, do NOT choose the initial USB Connection option! Instead, select Other Connection and the UPS Thermal driver appropriate for your printer. Then, choose the USB connection option from the connection list that appears.

Download the UPS thermal printer Plug-in or ActiveX file (UPS2442.exe from UPS Download)

Connect the printer to the USB port of a local computer where you will be printing the FedEx Labels from. Windows will detect and  install the Printer driver software.

From Devices and Printers, find your model (i.e., Zebra ZP 450) on the list of devices.

Right click on the model, select Printer Properties, then click on the Advanced tab.

Select New Driver, you will see the Add Printer Wizard.

Click Next, Have Disk, then Browse C:\UPS DRIVERS, select USBPRINT.INF.

A Printer Driver Selection list displays, choose UPS Thermal 2844, click Next.

If you see a warning message that reads "A UPS DLL file is required", click browse and find the missing files from C:\UPSDRIVERS\winnt\i386

If you see “The driver is not digitally signed" message, it is okay to click Next.

Complete the Wizard and click Finish.

You should be back on the Properties screen, click Apply.

The Printer is auto renamed to “UPS Thermal 2844” and is ready to use.
