Web Template Overview

The Web Template Manager is where you create, edit and manage the layout of your web site(s). The Web Template Manager is comprised of a Project List, Task Buttons, four functional tabs: Templates, Data Fields, Plug-ins, and Dev; and a Template Editor.

Projects

The Projects section is comprised of the Project drop-down list and the related functional buttons when creating the initial project. Projects represent different versions of your site. Typically, they identify the progression of your site and are usually labeled with a corresponding date. You do not need to create multiple projects, instead, you can work one project and making any aesthetic or functional additions with that single instance. A potential use in creating multiple instances would be if you had different aesthetic options that you would to rotate in and out, i.e. seasonal look and feel. However, it is important that when working with multiple instances that you update all instances with any functional changes: there is no global application of functional changes across multiple projects.

tip.PNG Tip: It is recommended that you create a new project for each major functional change to your site so that you build a history of your development should you want to revert to a previous version.

CAUTION: CORESense stores only one backup when you Publish the site.  The “Restore” button deletes the just-Published copy and restores the backup copy to live.  This means that if you publish multiple times sequentially, you will only be able to go back one version.  Please keep this in mind when publishing changes.
