Value Card Balance Plugin

Enables the ability to provide website customers with the ability to check Value Card balances online. A plug-in has been created to render the online balance query.

Action

Create plug-in tag:

  1. From plug-ins, select "My Account"

  2. Click "New"

  3. Click "Value Card Balance Widget"

  4. Enter "value_card_balance" as plug-in tag name

  5. Select "value_card_balance_module" from existing template dropdown and Save.

Create page template to show the widget (or add it to an existing one, these instructions are for a fresh new page)

  1. Select "Templates" tab.

  2. Expand "General Content."

  3. Click "New."

  4. Enter "value_card_lookup" for the "Name:" field.

Enter the following template as content for the template:

  • {page-header}
  • {value_card_balance}
  • {page-footer}

Save the Template.

Create a test card

Publish or preview site.

Browse to index/page/static/subpage/value_card_lookup

Test that plug-in returns the remaining balance or an appropriate error response.
