POS Overview

This is a reference for general access of the Connect™ Point of Sale (POS).  Connect can be both a mobile POS (thin client)  and terminal (thick client) based upon your contractual setup. Clients interested in learning more about Connect options, please contact Customer Support.

Activation

Thin clients require an Activation Token generated in the POS Replication Manager. Tokens are stored locally but can be re-used on multiple terminals by requesting CORESense enable  'Enable Thin client token sharing'.

  1. If this system setting is enabled, in the POS Terminal Manager allow viewing the authorization token for THIN client POS Terminals by adding a View link next to the currently displayed text of "In Use [Reset]": "In Use [Reset] [View]" and View would show the current authorization token being used.
  2. When activating a terminal, if a thin client token is provided that is already in use and the new system setting is enabled, provides the option to choose 'Share Token' when displaying the error message that this token is already in use. Clicking the Share Token will store the authorization token in the local storage / cookie./span>

The Connect interface is accessible from your POS terminal or any held-hand device with Internet access. Each terminal is assigned a token to activate the new system.  Your CORESense Administrator assigns a Username and Password to each user, which is typically the same login as your Back Office access.
