The Chart of Accounts Import section is used to import a Chart of Accounts that is used to map your CORESense Journal Entry configuration to QuickBooks account or generic account. Once mapped, data are exported and analyzed as necessary for your business needs.

Follow the steps below to export your data from QuickBooks.

Export your chart of accounts out of QuickBooks as a .cvs file. In QuickBooks select Lists > Chart of Accounts. |

Click on the Reports button and select Account Listing. |

Click on the Export… button. |

In the Basics tab, select the a comma separated values (.csv) file option. |

Click the Export button. |

You will be prompted to name and save the file to your local disk. |

After you save the file, open the file and the remove the Account Type column from the exported file so that there is only a header row and a column of Account names. Save the edited file. |
Follow the steps below to create an import file using your accounts.

Create a spreadsheet with a single column that lists all of your accounts, i.e., 100, 110, 120. If you want to include the descriptive labels, you can, for example 110, Inventory:Apparel. |

Follow the steps below to import your data into CORESense.

Select the configuration the Chart of Accounts is to be imported into and click the icon. |

From the top menu, click on the Chart of Accounts link. |

Browse to the saved chart of accounts file and verify that the file includes a header row and check the Header Row checkbox. Important : If the import format was not correct or there was some other error in the import, the only way to correct it is to create a new export configuration. |

Click on the Upload button. |
