Gift Certificate Redemption and Removal

CORESense provides two methods for redeeming a gift certificate on an existing order.

Redeem Gift Certificate in Order Manager

This section explains how to apply redeem a gift certificate for an order using the Office Manager.

Path: Orders > Order Manager > Billing

Follow the steps below to redeem a gift certificate.

From the order's Order Items screen, click on the Billing link.

All gift certificate redemptions are managed through the Gift Certificates box.

Enter the gift certificate information as described below.

Code - The gift certificate code.

Verification - The gift certificate verification code (optional)

Amount - The gift certificate amount to be redeemed. Only an amount up to the current gift certificate available amount can be redeemed.

Click Add to redeem the gift certificate toward the order.

CORESense provides notification of whether the redemption was Successful or Unsuccessful. If Successful, the gift certificate amount is redeemed on the order and displays in the Gift Certificate sub-section.

If Unsuccessful, either the requested amount to redeem is greater than the current amount available, or the code and verification do not match a gift certificate in CORESense.  Verify the values and try again.

The Gift Certificate box displays all successful gift certificate redemptions on the order.  The following information is displayed for each successful gift certificate redemption:

Date - The date on which the redemption was performed.

Purchased By - The order number assigned to the order from which the gift certificate was originally purchased. By clicking the Order Number, a new window opens displaying the Ordered Items section of the associated order.

Code - The gift certificate code.

Redeemed - The redemption amount.

Actions – By clicking , the associated gift certificate redemption can be removed from the order, and returns the value to the certificate.

Remove a Gift Certificate Redemption from an Order

This section explains how to remove a gift certificate redemption from an order using the Order Manager. This is typically performed in the case that the customer no longer wishes to pay for the order using the gift certificate, or the redemption was accidentally performed.

Path: Orders > Order Manager > Billing

Follow the steps below to remove a gift certificate redemption.

From the order's Order Items screen, click on the Billing link.

All gift certificate redemptions are managed through the Gift Certificates box.

Click on the  icon next to the associated gift certificate under the Actions column.

The system prompts you to confirm the removal. Click OK to remove the gift certificate redemption.

The order's Balance Due is increased by the amount of the gift certificate that was removed and the gift certificate's value is reapplied back to the certificate for use in the future.

A new form of payment must be applied to close out the Balance Due on the order.
