Grid Size Runs

A size run is the tool used to identify quantities desired for each configuration of a grid product. It is based on the established characteristics of an associated grid but is not required.

Create a Size Run

Follow the steps below to create a new size run for a grid product.

From Products > Grid Manager, click on the Create New Size Run button in the Filter by Grid Properties box.

Complete the fields as described below.

  

Size Run Label - enter a descriptive name for the size run

Product Type - Select the appropriate type from the drop-down list

Manufacturer - Select the appropriate manufacturer from the drop-down list

Grid  - Select a grid from the drop-down list to associate the size run with

Status -  Set the status to Active or Inactive. An error will result if this is skipped.

Click Update to continue.

The Size Run Screen displays three sections to which updates and entries can be made.

  • Size Run Properties

  • Product Locations for Size Run

  • Size Run Details

Change the Label name or activation status in the Size Run Properties box, and click Update to save.

To choose the specific hierarchy locations for replenishment, and the products to be included in the size run, click on Add New.

From the Add New Product Location box, click on the icon next to Location Hierarchy to select the location the size run is to be associated with.

Note: This feature is not required. If selected, it forces ordering from this location only for the associated size run, when size runs are used during the purchasing process. The default for this feature is to leave it undefined.

From the hierarchy levels (Chain, Region, District, Store), select the level at which you want the size run applied and click Go.

The Add New Product Location box displays again with the selected Location ID. Click on the  icon next to Products to search for the product the size run is to be associated with.

Repeat Steps 6-9 for any additional products you want to assign the size run to.

Enter  the amount of default inventory to be included in for the   Size Run   in each configuration field.   Click Refresh Totals to update the Totals row.

 

 Tip: Use the yellow shading to visually assist in identifying the quantity spread across the configurations.

The totals are captured for both the X and Y axis.
