Product Criteria

The Order Free Gift, Promotional and Shipping Discount deal types use the following steps to setup product criteria. Free Gift and Buy X Get Y deals are use the product criteria steps available from this link.

Products need to be specified as either included or excludedincluded or excluded for the promotion under the Product Criteria link.

Products that activate the promotion

Exclude

Use to remove any products that have been included in the current Products list, but should not be a part of the promotion.  For example, all of your Nike sneakers are included as part of the promotion except for a new style that has just been added to your inventory. Go to the Buy Exclude tab and locate that style to be excluded from the promotion; Buy Exclude products are not included in the promotion.

Using the filters in the Standard General Attributes section, identify which product criteriaproduct criteria you are using for the promotion. These are the free items that, once added to a cart, are then discounted at 100% if the order subtotal threshold is met.

Product Criteria field descriptions.

Description

Product ID

Select one product using individual product ID numbers, if product ID is unknown, use the icon-mag_glass.pngicon to search by product name or other fields

Product Name

Include product name exactly as it is listed with the product ID

Manufacturer

Include products by their manufacturer.  To choose more than one manufacturer hold down the CTRL key and click on each manufacturer included in the promotion.

Category Name

Include products based on their website category name field. To choose more than one category hold down the CTRL key and click on each category included in the promotion

Price

Include products based on their price point.

Description

Include products based on a shared word or phrase, such as: “summer” or “leather apparel”.  Exact matches only, no wild cards

Part/Style #

Include products based on a whole or segment of style number field, no wild cards.

Custom attributes are defined by the client during the implementation process and are displayed in the Custom General Attributes box. Custom criteria, when combined with Standard Attributes, further narrow products included in the promotion.

Once attributes have been entered, click the Save Product Criteria button to save the criteria.

Click the Update Product List button in order for the products to be listed with the promotion.

        

Important: Both buttons need to be clicked in order save your information. Be sure to click them for each tab you enter criteria for (Include and Exclude).

Once the Update Product List button is clicked for both Buy and Get tabs, the number of eligible products for the discount is listed next to the Products link.

Click on the Products link to review the product list.  

  1. Use the pagination arrows to view all items on list.

  2. Delete a product from the list by clicking the Remove  icon.

Additional products can be included or excluded using the Product Picker icon and assigning them as either a Buy item or a Get item. These items are then identified with a check under the Manually Included? column. To use this function, you must first have some criteria established under the Product Criteria tab before including or excluding specific products.

Note: If you want to include the product and it's already on the exclude list, it automatically includes it so that you don't have to remove it from the Exclude list.

Use Product ID search field for easy identification of a product within a deal's product list without having to arrow through the pagination.

Continue to Set Customer Criteria as needed.
