Permanent Markdowns

When a product has run its full course of retail and sale pricing, a permanent markdown can be assigned to it.

Important: By default, products that have been assigned a Permanent Markdown pricing are NOT eligible for any additional discounts that are defined in the Deal Manager. Once a product is on Permanent Markdown, no additional discounts can be applied. However, if you wish to have permanent markdowns eligible for additional discounts go to System Settings > Order Lifecycle Management > Orders and select YES for the Allow Deals On Permanent Markdowns option.

Follow the steps below to set a product with a permanent markdown.

Step	Action
1	From the Product Manager screen, click on the Permanent Markdowns link to access the markdown screen.
2	The discount can be set as either a dollar amount, a percentage or a fixed price. Select the Discount Type and then enter the Discount Amount.
3	Click on the Add Discount button to submit the markdown.
4	The markdown can be removed by clicking on the Remove Markdown button, which returns the item back to its original pricing.
